The European Society for Paediatric Research (ESPR) has launched a new initiative that provides up to ten ESPR Young Investigators under the age of 36 with financial support to attend the joint European Neonatal Societies (jENS) Congress in Maastricht, the Netherlands, from 17-21 September 2019: the ESPR Travel Grants.

  • Why you should apply

    The ESPR Travel grants offer an allowance of EUR 700 to cover:

    • Travel expenses (accommodation/flight);
    • Registration to jENS 2019;
    • Subsistence during the stay in Maastricht.
  • Eligibility requirements
    • You are an active ESPR member.
    • You are under the age of 36 (at the time of jENS 2019).
    • You are not based within a 300 km radius of Maastricht. Researchers from Belgium and the Netherlands are not eligible to apply due to proximity.
    • You do not receive other funding to attend jENS 2019.
    • You are not invited to participate at jENS 2019 as a speaker.
    • You have submitted an abstract to jENS 2019.
  • Required documents
    • Statement of motivation including the title of your abstract.
    • A one-page curriculum vitae including:
      - personal details;
      - location of training in Paediatrics and dates;
      - years of clinical experience;
      - involvement in clinical/research projects;
      - list of publications.
    • Assurance that no other funding exists to attend jENS 2019.
    • Your bank details. 

Submissions are evaluated based on scientific excellence, motivation and the applicant's potential to benefit from attending jENS 2019.

N.B.: Only applicants who have submitted an abstract and have been accepted to jENS 2019 are eligible to receive a travel grant.
