Invitation to an expert interview on 'Tactile-kinesthetic methods to promote enteral food build-up and meconium excretion in the small premature infant'

Invitation to an EXPERT INTERVIEW on the topic: Tactile-kinesthetic methods to promote enteral food build-up and meconium excretion in the small premature infant.

Rapid enteral nutrition of small preterm infants with very low birth weight (VLBW) has many positive aspects, like reducing intestinal mucosal atrophy and promoting the secretion of digestive enzymes and growth factors. Nursing interventions like massage and kinesthetic infant handling may optimize meconium excretion and therefore the enteral food build-up. There is a lack of evidence-based literature for the VLBW on this theme therefore we are looking for you as a neonatal nursing expert with a specialization in kinaesthetic infant handling and/or infant massage techniques for qualitative research via an expert interview. The team would like to capture the experience of opinion leaders in the field. Your recommendations will be summarized, and a thematic analysis will be performed and used together with (patho)-physiological models to develop a standardized intervention for the preterm infant to promote gastrointestinal passage in the first days of life.

The team would be very pleased to summarize your knowledge and hope to get in contact with you as an expert.
