  • About Corfu

Corfu, or Kerkyra, is an island with a long and distinctive place in Mediterranean history. Positioned at the crossroads of Europe and the Balkans, it has been shaped by a succession of cultures and ideas—from ancient Greece to the Venetian Republic and later European influences. This blend has given Corfu a unique identity, reflected in its architecture, educational tradition, and strong sense of community.

The island is known for its longstanding role as a cultural and intellectual center. It was home to Greece's first university, first modern public library, and one of its earliest philharmonic societies, highlighting its early commitment to arts, learning, and civic life. Corfu continues to carry this spirit today, with an active academic environment, vibrant local institutions, and a deep appreciation for heritage and creativity.

Corfu's character is defined by openness, curiosity, and cultural diversity—traits that make it an inspiring setting for gatherings, collaboration, and the exchange of ideas. Hosting our workshop here allows participants to engage with a place that values learning and connection, providing a meaningful backdrop for our time together.
