ESPR Travel grants

The ESPR Travel Grants provide ESPR Early Career Investigators with financial support to attend the 6th Congress of joint European Neonatal Societies (jENS 2025) taking place in Belgrade, Serbia, from 21-25 October 2025.

Applications for the ESPR Travel Grants can be submitted from the day of the abstract notification for jENS 2025. Please submit your complete documents to office@espr.eu.

Submission deadline: Sunday, 20 July 2025.

  • Why you should apply

    The ESPR Travel Grants offer an allowance of EUR 500 to cover:

    • Travel expenses (accommodation/flight);
    • Registration to jENS 2025;
    • Subsistence during your stay in Belgrade.
  • Eligibility requirements
    • Active ESPR membership (you can join the ESPR once your abstract has been accepted).
    • Accepted abstract to jENS 2025. Medical students who are co-authors of an abstract submitted are also eligible to apply, on the condition that they are the presenting author.
    • You are under the age of 36 or over the age of 36 but the content of the abstract submitted relates to work from an undergraduate, masters or primary postgraduate degree (MD/PhD.)
    • The content of the abstract does not represent postdoctoral research work.
    • You are not based within a 150 km radius of Belgrade.
    • You do not receive other funding to attend jENS 2025.
    • You are not invited to participate at jENS 2025 as a speaker.

    N.B.: Only complete applications that fulfill the requirements will be considered for review. Thank you for your understanding.

  • Required documents

    Please download, fill-in and return via office@espr.eu the ESPR Travel Award Template.

    A one-page curriculum vitae including:
    - personal details;
    - location of training in Paediatrics and dates;
    - years of clinical experience;
    - involvement in clinical/research projects;
    - list of publications.

    Submissions are evaluated based on scientific excellence (only abstracts in the top 20 percent can be considered), motivation and the applicant's potential to benefit from attending the meeting.
